Rental terms
Last updated 22 August 2026.
These terms apply to every hire that starts from this site. The specifics of yours — dates, which bikes, the total — are sent to you in writing before you commit, never after.
Who you are hiring from
SEO S.R.L., Via Roma 163, 73021 Calimera (LE), Italy. VAT 05151910758, REA LE - 345763, share capital €10,000. This is an Italian company and the hire is an Italian contract.
Three days minimum
We do not hire for one or two days. Below three days the two drives — bringing the bikes out and fetching them back — cost more than the hire itself, and we would rather say so than balance the books by raising the daily rate on everyone.
What it costs
The rate is per bike, per day, and it applies to the whole hire, not in tiers: seven days are counted at €40 throughout, not four at €40 and three at €45.
| Length | Per day | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | €45 | €135 |
| 4-7 days | €40 | €160 - 280 |
| 8 days or more | €35 | from €280 |
Daily supplements: Rockrider electric +€5, Trek electric +€10, second Trek battery +€10. SPD, SPD-SL or Look pedals €5.
Cut the hire short and the rate changes with it. A hire booked for eight days and handed back on the fifth is charged at the five-day rate, not the eight-day one. It is the same rule as above, running in the other direction.
Getting the bikes to you, and back
In Otranto: from 5 days, delivery and collection are free. For 3 to 4 days they are €20 per leg — so €40 in total, because the run out and the run back are two separate drives and both are counted.
At Lecce, San Foca and Calimera the handover is free whatever the length of hire.
Anywhere else in Puglia there is no fixed figure. Three things set it: the distance, the number of bikes, and how many days you are hiring them for. As a band it runs from €20 to €250 per leg, where €250 is the Gargano at the far end of the region. You get the exact number once we have the street address, and always before you confirm.
Timing is agreed between us. There is no shop with opening hours to work around: you write whenever suits you, and we fix the handover together.
No deposit, and no card held
We do not take a security deposit and we do not put a hold on a credit card. We need a copy of the ID of whoever signs, and on long hires sometimes a small transfer up front. That is all.
This is worth reading twice if you have hired bikes elsewhere in Europe, where a held card is normal. Here it is not, and nothing is charged to you beyond what is written in your confirmation.
What comes with the bike
With every bike, at no extra cost: helmet, front and rear lights, lock, frame bag, phone mount, pump, repair kit and a spare inner tube. A Garmin mount is free on request.
Rear racks and panniers do not fit the Trek Domane. If you need to carry luggage, that rules out one bike and we will say so when you ask, not when we arrive.
What does not come with it
Personal insurance, your travel, accommodation, meals, and getting yourself to and from Puglia. We do not sell packages and we do not run guided tours.
On insurance specifically: check whether your travel policy already covers cycling. Many do, some exclude it, and it is not something we can arrange for you.
Riding the bike
The bike is for open roads and tracks, ridden under the Italian highway code. Whoever rides it should be able to: that is not a formality — some of these bikes are demanding and the roads on the south coast are too.
The bike is not to be lent to anyone outside the names on the booking, and it does not leave Puglia unless we have agreed it first.
Wear, breakage and theft
Normal wear is ours: punctures, brake pads, a chain that stretches. It is part of hiring a bike and you do not pay for it.
Damage beyond normal use — a bent frame or wheel, components broken in a fall or through neglect — is down to the person who hired it. If something happens, call us before trying to sort it yourself. Most of the time we can deal with it, and it costs everyone less.
Theft requires a report to the police.
If you cancel
Write to us as early as you can. The window in which cancelling costs nothing, and anything retained beyond that window, are set out in the written confirmation you receive before you commit. We do not publish one rule here because it would change with the season, and a rule that does not always hold is worse than no rule at all.
Law and jurisdiction
Italian law applies to the contract. If you are hiring as a consumer, the courts of your place of residence or domicile remain competent under the Italian Consumer Code — being outside Italy does not remove that.
