Privacy policy
This page describes how SEO S.R.L. handles personal data collected through noleggiobiciotranto.it, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended. It is short because the site does very little.
Who is responsible
The data controller is SEO S.R.L., Via Roma 163, 73021 Calimera (LE), Italy. VAT 05151910758, REA LE - 345763. For anything on this page write to salentobikerental@gmail.com or call +39 320 4864478. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed: a company of this size is not required to have one.
The enquiry form, in plain terms
What you type into the form on the home page is turned into an email and sent to salentobikerental@gmail.com, which is the address printed in the footer of every page here. There is no booking platform behind it, no CRM and no form provider: the browser posts the fields to a small script on this same domain, the script writes the email, and that is the whole journey.
The email contains what you filled in — your name, your email address, your dates, and, where you completed them, the number of days, the number of bikes, the bike you had in mind and the free text box. It also contains the IP address the message was sent from, added automatically, and a label saying the enquiry came from this site rather than from another of ours. The IP address is there so that an abusive or automated flood of messages can be identified and blocked.
- Purpose: to answer you and, if you decide to go ahead, to organise the hire.
- Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and for the IP address our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable, Art. 6(1)(f).
- Retention: enquiries that do not turn into a hire are deleted from the mailbox within twelve months. Where a hire actually happens, the accounting records are kept for the period Italian tax law requires, currently ten years.
- No marketing: there is no newsletter, no mailing list and no box to tick, because there is nothing to subscribe to. Your address is used to reply to you and for nothing else.
Because the mailbox that receives your message is a Google account, your message is stored on Google's infrastructure once it arrives. That is the one transfer of data outside our own hands, and it is worth knowing before you write.
WhatsApp, email and telephone
If you contact us directly, we hold that conversation on the same basis and for the same periods as above. WhatsApp messages sit on infrastructure run by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd under their own terms, which we neither control nor can change; if that matters to you, use email or the telephone instead. Both are on every page.
What this site does not do
- No cookies. The site sets none, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner and are not asked to accept anything.
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording.
- No third-party scripts or embeds. The fonts are served from this same server rather than from Google Fonts, so opening a page here does not hand your IP address to anyone else. There is no map widget, no video player and no social button.
- No browser storage. Nothing is written to local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making. Availability is decided by a person reading your message.
- Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
The one piece of JavaScript on the site draws the rings on the map diagram and sends the form. With JavaScript switched off the pages are still complete and readable, and the email address and telephone number still work.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary web server logs — IP address, time of the request, the page requested, the browser user-agent — as an automatic part of serving a page. They exist for security and for diagnosing faults, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and the provider keeps them for a short period. We do not build anything on top of them.
Who else sees your data
Only those who have to for the service to work: the hosting provider that stores the site and runs the script behind the form, and our accountant, for the records of hires that actually take place. Both act as data processors under contract. Nobody else receives your details, and we do not pass them to other companies in order to sell you anything.
Your rights
You can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, or to send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest. A plain email to salentobikerental@gmail.com is enough — there is no form for this — and we answer within one month.
Deletion is simple here. If you asked about dates and then decided against it, say so and the enquiry goes. Where tax law obliges us to keep the records of a completed hire, we will tell you which parts we cannot delete and why.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in the country where you live.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes, the version published here is the one that applies. If something on this page does not match what you experienced on the site, tell us: that would be a fault worth knowing about rather than a technicality.
